Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Visited for lunch with my wife. We had anchovies (offered), smoked wild bluefin, tuna loin tartare, cod croquettes and tuna sirloin with a sweet and spicy sauce. For dessert, chocolate textures and mini philipinos. Everything was wonderful. With a beer, a glass of wine and coffee, the bill was 120 euros including service. Couldn't recommend this place more."
"1. You need a reservation for this restaurant, because is full every day. :) 2. The inside is quite noisy so if you want something more quiet choose an outside table 3. Regarding the food, i think everything is delicious, so very hard to choose the best think. If you like tuna, then you will be in heaven here. 4. Necessarily try the chocolate egg for postres :) 5. Amazing vibe and service. Top"
"El Campero is hailed as the best bluefin tuna restaurant in the world, offering an exceptional dining experience that even includes Japanese-style preparations. Personally, though, I think the Western way of enjoying it is the best! If you ever visit southern Spain, this is a restaurant well worth trying. Highly recommended!"
"Refined seafood restaurant for special occasions. Very high quality in terms of food and service (2 soles Repsol). Everything we ordered was delicious, above all the red tuna carpaccio with lime-and-basil sorbet. Our dessert—the white chocolate egg with rice pudding and passion fruit—was outstanding as well. The place is huge, having several dining areas inside and outside. Nonetheless, there tend to be long cues at peak hours during the summer months. So come early or make a reservation."
"The food is fabulous but the restaurant itself is a big disappointment. The host had a terrible demeanor when half the guests arrived 10 minutes earlier. He actually made my friends wait for me to arrive instead of providing them with a table for drinks consumption. A great opportunity to make people comfortable and make money for the restaurant. We arrived a whole group of 8 people and his demeanor continued to be bad and unprofessional. So we were sitting on a table for 4 people, with high chairs and from them everyone was unhappy and uncomfortable. We are 8 professional people. Some are lawyers, architect, accountants and I made my booking specifically asked to dine in the main room. No one in these reviews actually said nothing about how uncomfortable all those chairs are. Terrible experience and so I would go back I don’t think that anyone who spend that kind of money at a restaurant needs to be sitting in high chairs. A total disrespect and disappointment to the patrons."
"I’m a tuna lover, so when I discovered I’m close to the Tuna Temple I couldn’t help it and went with my family. Started with some Dried Tuna and Raw mix platter, both amazing. Then the Mix of grilled tuna, from the less fattier to the fattiest, amazing. And then the egg desert is smth different. The service was 10/10 for real, the guy explained about the region wines Manzanilla and Fino, suggested to try them. The kids had a delicious beef steak and jamon croquettes. It’s a bit pricey, that’s true, but you pay for good quality. The bill was 300 euro for the 4 of us with a bottle of wine of 50€"
"Incredible!!! Absolutely incredible!! Our lunch was so nice. From the warm greetings from the hostess to our very congenial waiter and the beautiful dining room it was an outstanding experience. We loved the tuna lasagna the chef sent to the table and the perfectly crispy calamari we ordered to start. We had a variety of dishes for our main course. The tuna parrillada was outstanding. It features six different cuts of tuna. Each is perfectly prepared and the presentation is outstanding. We somehow found a spot for dessert. Be sure to save room. It’s worth every calorie. The chocolate textures featured dark chocolate in a variety of way the tocino del cielo was truly heavenly. The white chocolate egg with the lively passion fruit sauce was divine. The Millefeuille was so perfectly light that it almost floated from the plate. We’ve already made reservations to return!"
"Best place there is to eat tuna. Worth just yo go for the toast with tunna and truffle. Very nice to try several parts of the tunna. Service was impeccable and fast. It is an expensive restaurant placed on a humble neighborhood."
